Department Visits- The Bolivar Fire Department is "Your" fire department. We want to extend a warm welcome for anyone wishing to view the building and grounds to stop in during normal business hours. We are proud our 'our' department, and want you to be, also. We especially like to have children stop in with their parents. We have small gifts for them and love to see their eyes when they get close to the fire trucks. Parade - Every year in June we sponsor a Fireman's Parade in conjunction with the Bolivar Strawberry Festival. This parade includes entrants from local fire departments, vintage vehicles, horse drawn vehicles, marching bands, baton twirlers and floats. We also sponsor a 5K run that goes from the Village of Bolivar to Zoar Village. We have many runners for this event. Open House- We have an "Open House" every few years to show the public how we are utilizing their money that they have entrusted to us. We have all of our apparatus on display, conduct vehicle extrication demonstrations, have local medical helicopters visit, show our personnal and vehicle equipment along with their costs, fire extinguisher training, and door prizes.
