We are very active in trying to receive grants and awards to help keep the cost of providing a great fire department at a minimum cost to our residents. The following is a list of these awards that we have received:

2010-
We have just received a grant for $25,000.00 dollars for new extrication equipment. The new cutter and spreader will cut the new BORON steel used in vehicle manufacturing now much faster and easier. The older tools will go on the ladder for backup. The ladder and escue will never be on the same mutual aid run at the same time, thus wel will always have a set of tools available in the township.

2008-
FEMA Fire Act grant for $88,360.00 for upgrading our turnout gear, portable defibulators, and emergency communications equipment.

2007-

State of OHIO EMS grant of $6500.00

2006-

FEMA Fire Act grant for $118,000.00 for upgrading our SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus), Portacount Fit Test Device, cascade compressor, fire educator training, and new turnout gear.
State of OHIO EMS grant for $2500.00

2005-

State of Ohio EMS grant for $9000.00

2004-

State of OHIO EMS grant for $3500.00

2003-

FEMA Fire Act grant for $195,000.00 for a new 3000 gallon Tanker truck
State of OHIO EMS grant for $5000.00

2002-

FEMA Fire Act grant for $29,500.00 for physicals and physiacl fitness equipment.

All of the State of OHIO EMS grants were used to purchase EMS equipment or for EMS related education. The cost to put one members through Paramedic school is $3000.00 today.
The FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) grants were developed after the September 11, 2001 acts in New York City. We feel very priviledged to be able to have been awarded so many large amounts to help improve our emergency reponse capabilities.
